Standard Terms of Client Engagement & Legal Services

Last Updated: October 2026 • Applicable to All Retainers, Consultations & Court Representations

1. Acceptance of Terms & Legal Disclaimer

Welcome to International Law Firm (ILF) (ilfirm.com). By accessing our website, submitting an inquiry through our digital consultation forms, engaging our advocates via telephone or WhatsApp, or retaining our legal chambers for courtroom representation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service.

Disclaimer: The informational content published across this website—including legal guides, practice area explanations, statutory summaries, and FAQ answers—is provided solely for general educational and informational guidance. It does not constitute formal legal advice, judicial instruction, or a binding guarantee of court outcome.

2. Establishment of Attorney-Client Relationship

An attorney-client relationship between you and International Law Firm is not established merely by visiting this website, submitting an inquiry, or engaging in a preliminary phone conversation. A legally binding attorney-client relationship is formally established exclusively upon:

  • Execution of a formal Vakalatnama (Power of Attorney) filed and accepted before the relevant court of law; or
  • Execution of a written Legal Engagement Agreement / Retainer Contract signed by an authorized advocate of International Law Firm; and
  • Payment of the mutually agreed initial consultation fee or retainer deposit.

3. Scope of Legal Services & Practice Areas

International Law Firm provides legal counsel, litigation advocacy, dispute resolution, and transactional documentation across recognized jurisdictions:

  • Peshawar High Court (Dar-ul-Qaza Mingora Bench Swat): Constitutional writ petitions (Article 199), civil revisions (Section 115 CPC), criminal appeals (Section 410 CrPC), stay applications, and habeas corpus petitions.
  • Supreme Court of Pakistan: Civil Petitions for Leave to Appeal (CPLA), Criminal Petitions, Review Petitions under Article 188, and apex court appellate advocacy.
  • Subordinate Courts of Malakand Division: District & Sessions Courts, Senior Civil Judge Courts, Guardian Courts, and Family Courts across Swat, Buner, Shangla, Dir, and Malakand.
  • Revenue Hierarchy: Proceedings before Halqa Patwaris, Tehsildars, Assistant Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners (Collectors), and the KPK Board of Revenue.
  • Special Tribunals: Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATC), Accountability Courts (NAB), Special Anti-Corruption Courts, and FIA Cyber Crime Special Courts.
  • Overseas Expatriate Protection Desk: Remote property safeguarding, digital NADRA Power of Attorney execution, and cross-border matrimonial dispute resolution.

4. Client Responsibilities & Truthful Disclosure

The success of any legal strategy depends on absolute candor and factual accuracy. Clients engaging our firm agree to:

  • Provide complete, unreserved, and truthful disclosure of all facts, historical background, prior litigation records, and disputed transactions.
  • Furnish legible, authentic copies of all relevant documents, notices, title deeds, and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Refrain from suppressing material facts, adverse prior orders, or conflicting parallel proceedings. The suppression of material facts can forfeit equitable judicial relief (such as interim injunctions) and constitutes grounds for immediate withdrawal of counsel.
  • Maintain respectful and professional communication with court officials, chamber associates, and legal staff.

5. Transparent Fee Structure & Financial Terms

International Law Firm operates under transparent, predictable, and professional fee guidelines:

  • Professional Legal Fees: Fee structures are established following preliminary case assessment based on case complexity, court jurisdiction, anticipated duration, and required research. Fee arrangements may include fixed retainers, staged milestone fees, or per-hearing appearances.
  • Court Expenses & Statutory Disbursements: Professional fees do not include government court fees, revenue stamp duties, process server costs, publication charges, local commission fees, certified copy procurement fees, or travel expenses for hearings outside Swat. These actual disbursements remain the responsibility of the client.
  • Non-Refundability of Earned Retainers: Once substantive legal work—such as case study, petition drafting, record room inspection, or court appearance—has commenced, retainer deposits corresponding to completed milestones are non-refundable.

6. Judicial Discretion & No Outcome Guarantee

Under the canons of professional ethics governing the legal profession in Pakistan, an advocate cannot ethically or lawfully guarantee a specific judgment, verdict, or court order. The ultimate determination of any lawsuit, writ petition, bail application, or appeal rests solely within the sovereign judicial discretion of the presiding judges and magistrates, based on the statutory law, factual merits, and evidence admitted on record. International Law Firm pledges unwavering diligence, rigorous legal advocacy, and strategic mastery, but does not warrant unconditional victory.

7. Overseas Expatriate Representation & Virtual Advisory

For clients residing outside Pakistan (including UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, and USA):

  • Representation in court proceedings is carried out under an authenticated Special Power of Attorney (NADRA Digital PoA or Consular-attested PoA).
  • Virtual consultations (via Zoom or WhatsApp) are billed at agreed international advisory rates. Time slots are coordinated according to the client’s overseas time zone.
  • Official filings and court orders are communicated promptly via digital scans and encrypted PDF records.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Pakistani law, International Law Firm and its partner advocates shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, delays caused by judicial strikes, court vacations, administrative procedural backlog, or unforeseen changes in statutory legislation or binding judicial precedents during the pendency of a case.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service, all client engagement agreements, and any disputes arising out of professional legal services provided by International Law Firm shall be governed, interpreted, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
